ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSOC) -- Rev. Billy Graham was taken to Mission Health hospital in Asheville Tuesday for respiratory problems.

A spokesman for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association told WSOC-TV Channel 9 he should be released Thursday.

"Mr. Graham is in the hospital with a respiratory congestion issue, similar to what he had a few weeks ago. As was the case then, we expect he will be able to return home in a day or two,” said Mark DeMoss, spokesman for Billy Graham.

Graham celebrated his 95th birthday a couple weeks ago.

In a ballroom packed with nearly 900 people, Graham and his closest friends celebrated at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.

From singers Ricky Skaggs and Michael W. Smith to Donald Trump, who said his own father was a fan.

"Billy Graham is special," Trump said.

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke at the celebration and said Graham has always been bold and spoken the truth.

"So appreciative of what he's done in impacting our world," Palin said.

The reverend delivered a message that's been on his heart for the past three years.

His son, Franklin Graham, said Billy Graham originally wanted to preach in a stadium, but didn't have the strength.

Instead, he recorded the message from his living room, and turned those recordings into a series of videos called "My Hope America."

They include powerful messages from the reverend and testimonies.

Graham began his ministry at the Peniel Baptist Church in Palatka in 1939.
