JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Spring sprung on Wednesday morning! The vernal equinox occurred at 7:02 AM EDT. Ironically, cooler (then colder) air is moving in as we get the season started.

The cold front is generating clouds. Some light rain is expected in the area into this evening.

Once the clouds clear overnight and early Thursday, the unseasonably chilly air rushes in. It will be windy (north winds 10 to 20 mph) and colder as skies clear.

Temperatures will reach the upper 30's inland and upper 40's coast as we begin the day on Thursday. Wind chills will mostly be in the 30s!

Despite sun on Thursday afternoon, we'll still have a chill in the air. We'll be about 10 degrees below average.

Some inland frost is possible Friday morning before we warm up over the weekend.

Look for rain to go along with the warming trend this weekend.
