St. Augustine hydrant tests may affect water quality

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Public Works department will be testing fire hydrants this week and that could affect your water flow.

The work is being done between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. today through Thursday Tonight, tests are being conducted west of U.S. 1 (Ponce de Leon Blvd.) and north of Cincinnati Ave.

On Wednesday night, tests will be conducted in the area south of Cincinnati Avenue lying between the Matanzas and San Sebastian Rivers and on Thursday night tests will be conducted on Anastasia Island.

Water quality and pressure may be affected as crews flush the water mains.
As a precaution, residents are advised to check the water coming out of the tap.
