St. Augustine man arrested on meth charges

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A man was arrested on various drug charges Thursday after detectives found meth-making items in his home.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office arrested Verl J. Solano after a lengthy investigation into possible drug activity at a residence in the 300 block of Shamrock Road. A search warrant was served on the home.

Detectives found methamphetamine and items associated with methamphetamine use. Solano, 58, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug dwelling.

Solano's first court appearance is Friday.
