ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Police Department is looking for a suspect who doused motor oil and paint on the walls and entrances of the Absolute Americana Art Gallery on Bridge Street.

Employee Jessica Chaliandros said she found the mess when she reported for work the next morning. The damage was all over the front entrance, side entrance, and even the business' signage was splattered with paint.

"I was in shock. I really didn't know what to do, so the first thing I did was contact the police," said Chaliandros.

The suspect left police a clue. He was caught on the gallery's video surveillance camera. In the footage you can see him walk up to the front entrance, douse motor oil on the stairs and nonchalantly walk away.

Chaliandros said this isn't this first time the gallery has been targeted.

"This has happened earlier. I believe back in September we had another incident," said Chaliandros.

This time around, the store is left with a hefty cleanup bill of at least $1,600.

Investigators hope the video surveillance footage will help put the suspect behind bars.

The owner of the art gallery is offering $500 for the tip that leads to an arrest. If you have any information, you're asked to call the St. Augustine Police Department at 904-825-1074.
