I am moving my family to St Augustine in September from Arizona and we chose St Johns County over all of the other areas in Florida, mainly because of its A rated school system. This article helps validate our decision!

Surely this is not a surprise that this district has "A" schools. Imagine if "busing" were started again. Oh my, the affluent people of this county would not allow it. As the superintendent said, it is the parental involvement that is a huge contributing factor in the success of the students. Duval has always had big problems, less the dedicated magnet schools. From experience we know that the biggest problem is the parents or lack there of, that are not concerned nor involved with their children's education. They literally dump the kids in the system and the only time these people are heard is when their kids cause trouble. Then these parents appear to say it is the school's fault and they take no responsibility for their failure. There are no consequences for this. These ones drag down those that are good students with parents participating in their kids education. We are happy that we do not have to deal with the schools, other than pay taxes. Before anyone jumps on my comments, we choose not to help due to the many that are part of it that want the hand out and want others to educate their kids. Bumper sticker recently seen"~"Don't breed them if you cannot feed them." I'll add, "If you care nothing to be involved in their education, don't have them."
