ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Jim Wilson and his wife have been battling bugs for years. Not only do they have fish ponds in their yard, but they live right next to a marsh, which is the prime spot for mosquitoes.

"We did pellets for a while and that lasts about a week or so. It kind of keeps them at bay, but they're still right behind it," Wilson explained.

Anastasia Mosquito Control says it can help. In fact, it encourages homeowners to call them and fill out a service request.

"An inspector sprayer will come out, check your property for flying mosquitoes or baby mosquitoes. Larvae. And they'll treat for them if they're there," said Jodi Scott with Anastasia Mosquito Control.

"I found out traps are also set out once a week around the county. They help with research and identify areas that need the most attention.

Wilson says he's down for anything that will give his family relief.

"We get used to it, but it is somewhat manageable -- in the city limits especially."

Mosquito Control suggests you limit your outdoor activity at dawn and dusk, wear long-sleeved clothing, and wear repellent with DEET in it. To contact Anastasia Mosquito Control, call (904) 471-3107.
