ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A deputy with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office was run over at a traffic stop late Monday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Action News called the office. A public information officer reported that two deputies were making a traffic stop behind the St. Augustine Police Department, when an unrelated man pulled up in a Toyota Camry.  The spokesman said the driver revved the engine and appeared to purposefully drive toward the deputies, hitting both patrol cars and running over one deputy.

Action News is working to learn the extent of those injuries.  The Sheriff's Office says he is expected to be okay.

Deputies say they know who the driver is and are working to get a warrant for his arrest.
