St. Johns County's oldest inmate transferred to DCF custody
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- St. Johns County's oldest inmate is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
Amanda Stevenson, 97, was charged with murder in the death of her nephew. Investigators say she confessed to the crime about a year ago. She was found mentally and physically unable to stand trial in April.
Wednesday, Judge Michael Traynor signed an order committing Stevenson to DCF. She is scheduled to undergo a psychological evaluation. Stevenson will be housed in a facility to be determined by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
