Before everyone gets soft hearted. There was string of robbiers in the late 80's where the criminal would rob stores and kill the clerks etc. Many them got light sentences and are out now. Using a real gun to commit crimes means innocent people could die because of this. If his gun was not real but fake I could see a less harsh sentence. There are good people that have died to robbers that only crime was they recongized the person and were killed for that. Some where just doing thier jobs delivering pizzas etc and killed for what cash they might have had. Use gun to rob people should get you lenghty prison terms for life. Less so maybe if the gun is not real as there is less threat of the criminal actually killing someone with a fake gun.
