Starke church burglar arrested
STARKE, Fla. -- A Bradford County man is facing numerous charges after police say he broke into the Regeneration Church earlier this week and stole and damaged numerous items.
The Starke Police Department responded to the church on Sunday and found everything from musical instruments to a communion set missing.
Officers say they traced down the suspect to an abandoned house in the 1000 block of Florida Street on Monday and arrested 40-year-old James David Petrie.
On Tuesday, Petrie confessed to the church burglary and even admitted to stealing firearms in another case, police said.
Petrie was booked into the Bradford County Jail and faces numerous charges including burglary and grand theft.
