JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Stolen school buses from Georgia were found at EverBank Field during the Florida-Georgia over the weekend.

Action News called the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. We talked with an investigator who confirmed two school buses from the Lowndes County School District were recovered here in Jacksonville on Saturday near the stadium.

Our sources say the buses were used as shuttles for the football game.

The two buses were stolen from Valdosta in October.

Action News called the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and confirmed Alphoso Bernard Rock was arrested. We checked with state business records and found he is the owner and general manager of 95 South Tours and Transportation.

Action News obtained the police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. In it, it says the Lowndes County buses were recovered at the intersection of E. Beaver St. and Franklin Street on Saturday. The drivers were questioned and said they were driving the buses for 95 South Tours and Transportation. JSO officers towed the stolen buses from the scene and released the drivers.

On Monday, JSO went to the company’s lot on Lane Avenue. There JSO says they found three more buses that had been reported stolen as well as a fourth bus that was missing its VIN information.

Rock was arrested Monday at his company and is charged with theft of a motor vehicle less than $100,000.

Action News has also uncovered that Rock’s company is advertised with the Duval County School Board as a “Magnet Only School Bus” offering to take students to and from Jacksonville magnet schools at a cost of $1,035.00 for the entire school year. The Duval County flier is marketed to parents and students for the 2012-2013 school year and it lists 95 South Tours and Transportation as one of three school bus companies to use. Along with A.B. Rock is the owner and general manager, and Angela Rock is the assistant manager. She also is assistant manager at Tierney Rock. Their route is targeted to the Southside, Mandarin, Arlington and Beaches areas.

Action News Anchor Lynnsey Gardner will have the latest on Action News at Noon on CBS47 and reporter Noel McLaren will have the very latest tonight on Action News at 5pm.

Statement from  Duval County School District:

Duval County Public Schools has current bus contracts with the following transportation providers - Birnie, Durham, First Student, and Student Transportation of America. The company you reference in your email (95 South Tours & Transportation) is one of seven listed on the information sheet of third party transportation providers. Upon review of that list, you will see that there is clear guidance provided that specifies that the " list is for information purposes only and that the District does not monitor or inspect the performances and services of private contractors. Parents and students who use this information do so at their own risk." You may recall that Dr. Vitti made the priority to restore magnet transportation this year, minimizing and reducing the need for parents to utilize third party services. At this time, we are not aware of any magnet parents utilizing 95 South Tours & Transportation.

Another example of the criminal culture within Duval County public schools. Parents should disenroll there kids from this environment or teach them how to fight back against this kind of influence. What did students have to endure who were transported by this person?
