JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Natasha Hernandez was home with her two young children, when she heard a loud noise outside.
"I didn't know where it was coming from so I just opened the curtain and looked out and seen a tree falling," says Hernandez.
The giant tree came crashing down into her family's home on Laurina Street. It happened during the storm on Friday afternoon.
No one was injured but the fallen tree left a lot of damage. The family's SUV was in the driveway and some of the branches smashed the windshield and left dents in the car. The home's roof was also badly damaged.
"I knew the tree was in bad condition and it was going to happen sooner or later," says Denise Masa, who was at work when the tree fell.
Masa says she recently notified her landlord that the tree was rotting. But before anyone could do anything about it, the tree fell.
"Now we don't have electricity," says Masa. "We don't know where we're going to stay -- or what's going to happen."
Masa is just relieved the damage wasn't worse.
"I'm glad that nobody is hurt. That's the main thing. Nobody is hurt. Everybody is okay."
