JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- JEA crews worked into the night to fix downed power lines caused by strong winds gusts Saturday, knocking out power to thousands of homes.

On Renault Drive S. and Caravelle Drive in the westside our camera caught several crews trying to fix more than one downed power line. Power was restored just after 6 p.m. in the westside neighborhood but there are still many areas still without electricity.

JEA outage tracker reports more than 5,700 customers are still without power. According to JEA spokesperson Gerri Boyce, more crews are on standby anytime there is severe weather.
