JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Hot, humid air will combine with an upper level disturbance to ignite numerous heavy thunderstorms into early tonight. Storms will move steadily eastward at 15-20 mph making it all the way to the beaches. Expect heavy downpours that will cause at least ponding of water and potentially some flooding given the recent wet weather, strong winds that could drop trees and power lines, hail and frequent lightning. Storms will affect virtually all areas at one time or another with a diminishing trend by 6-7pm. More storms are in the forecast for Wednesday and at least parts of the area Thursday before somewhat drier conditions move in.
