JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A new law is banning public assistance cards in Florida from working being used at strip clubs and liquor stores.

An Action News investigation last year exposed how taxpayer money was funding Electronic Benefits Transfer cards at strip clubs.

Legislators in Tallahassee responded to our report by passing a new law which took effect Tuesday.

The Department of Children and Families which runs the EBT program said the cards will no longer work at strip clubs, liquor stores or gaming facilities.
