ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The beaches in southern St. Johns County remain temporarily closed to vehicle access.

High surf is to blame.

The areas were expected to reopen Wednesday.

Vehicle access gates at Vilano Beach and Porpoise Point remain open, but will be evaluated daily.
