JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Duval County Public Schools is helping parents and students find the school for them at 'Magnet Mania'.
The event, held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center Saturday, offered parents and students the chance to preview and ask questions about the available magnet programs in Duval County.
The programs offered at various schools include those that specialize in art, computer science and medicine. Students can then apply for the magnet program of their choice.
It's an opportunity student, TJ Griffith says will help him achieve his dream. "I want to be an artist," said TJ. While the programs offer a great outlet for creativity, some parents say they are drawn to opportunity it offers. "{i like} anything that will help him prepare for college", says Joe Bruce.
Though the event ended Saturday, Duval County Schools wants parents and students to still have the opportunity to learn about the programs offered throughout the county. They have more information available on the Duval County Schools
website.
