Superintendent to recommend Forrest High be named Westside High
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Superintendent Nikolai Vitti will recommend Nathan Forrest High School be renamed to Westside High School at Tuesday's school board meeting, according to Duval County Schools spokesperson Tia Ford.
The recommendation is based on weeks of public voting.
Based on the recommendation, the majority of the voters chose the Westside High School name instead of Firestone High School.
The school board meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the school administration building off of Prudential Drive.
The school board is expected to vote on the recommendation Tuesday evening.
