Surfer recalls shark attack, teeth sinking into foot

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- Ashlee LaFlam told Action News she had surgery Sunday night to have part of a shark tooth removed from her foot. The local surfer has to go back to the doctor today to see if there are fragments still in her foot.

I can never understand some medical practices. Why didn't they xray for fragments while they were doing the FIRST surgery and get everything then?! They say there may be fragments--if they're aware of this possibility why not get EVERYthing at one time? Is it a 'money' issue, getting more for multiple procedures? We usually end up paying for this kind of thing with higher insurance premiums.
