JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man already in jail accused in a sex crime case is now accused of plotting to murder his victims. The State Attorney's Office says 32-year-old Daniel Lowry allegedly wrote a letter with a detailed plot on how to kill two his two 15-year-old accusers.
The SAO says the letter provided physical descriptions of both victims and where they lived. It says the letter also provided a map with instructions on the best time and place to kill victims as well as where a gun could be obtained for the murders. According to the SAO, the note also states that the girls needed to be murdered so they could not testify in the trial.
The SAO says an investigator went undercover, posing as the man hired for murders. The investigator, they say, was able to recover the gun identified in the letter.
Lowry was arrested in March on charges of lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious exhibition for crimes between February and March 2013.
He has now been charged with two additional counts of criminal solicitation. Criminal solicitation is a felony crime. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison for each of the new charges.
Lowry's next court date is Sept. 11, 2013.
