JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man charged with killing a newlywed couple is now pleading not guilty.

A judge Tuesday granted a motion by Tyreyon Washington to withdraw his plea of guilty.

Washington was set to be sentenced last week.  He accepted a plea bargain for second-degree murder but then changed his mind during the sentencing hearing.

The plea would've kept him off death row for the killings of Jeanette Hawkins and Ricky Morgan.  Police found the victims burned and shot to death in a wooded area west of downtown.

Police said the killings were connected to drugs.

Now, Washington faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.  He pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony first-degree murder.  He'll be back in court in mid-September.
