Suspect in attempted murder of local firefighter released from jail
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The man accused of trying to murder a Flagler County firefighter was released from jail Friday.
Nathaniel David Juratovac was arrested in March by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office for what was an apparent road rage incident. Authorities said he made bail late last week.
Deputies say Juratovac was driving on U.S. 1 near St. Augustine Shores when he fired multiple shots at a vehicle driven by Flagler County firefighter Jared Parkey.
Parkey was hit by bullets and sent to the hospital. Parkey's wife was also inside the vehicle but was not injured.
Juratovac's bond was at $300,000.
Juratovac is a former Flagler Beach police officer and was being held in the Clay County jail for his protection.
