Suspect in firefighter's murder incompetent
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A man charged with killing a local firefighter has been found incompetent to stand trial.
Charles Pearce is now in the custody of the Department of Children & Families.
He will undergo evaluations for the next 6 months and then face another hearing to see if he's fit for trial.
Pearce faces 2nd-degree murder charges for the shooting death of Mike McCue in Jacksonville Beach last year.
