Suspect named in fatal post office shooting
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has now named a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man outside a local post office.
Police say 22-year-old Arianne Myles shot her ex-boyfriend 23-year-old Harold Davis multiple times killing him in the parking lot on the corner of Blanding Boulevard and Townsend Road.
According to police, after killing Davis, Myles fled in a Ford Focus. A retired police Sergeant witnessed it and followed her in his vehicle giving police updates on her location.
Police caught up with the car on Timuquana Road where the Myles crashed into a car at the intersection of Seaboard Avenue carrying a mom and her children.
Everyone in the car crash received minor injuries according to JFRD. The mom was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
Monday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told Action News they don't believe the shooting was pre-meditated. They say they believe Myles just happened upon Davis' car in the parking lot of the post office before firing at him.
Myles remains in the hospital as a result of injuries from the crash.
Police say there was a second person in the car with Myles before the shooting took place. They tell Action News that person is cooperating with police and is being treated as a witness.
