JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office will not file charges against a man for shooting and killing an intruder. That man will be charged with a misdemeanor for violating a judge's order not to possess a firearm.

The shooting happened around 10 a.m. on Aubrey Avenue on Jacksonville's Northside. The shooter told police he was checking on a rental property and found the would-be burglar inside, and fired. The man died at the hospital. Police found evidence of a break-in, confirming the property owner's story.
