SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Looking at this road, it's hard to believe it has been more than two months since Tropical Storm Debby.
Action News asks homeowner Betty Pittman, "Have you ever seen something this bad before?"
"No, not this bad. Never. Not here -- this has never flooded," she says.
Betty Pittman and her husband, David, say they haven't had a moment of peace since Debby flooded their entire Suwanee neighborhood. "We're just having such problems because our septic is still under water and now we're at risk with the trees sitting so long now were worrying about the trees falling," says Pittman.
Their home has been surrounded by water since late June. And they're seeing more issues arise now because of the saturated ground.
"This is holes we've found in the ground right here. Don't get too close because they drop straight down," she says. Water is just so many feet from the house which creates foundation problems. But Betty says they're actually the lucky ones on their street.
"His house was actually three quarters of the way. People over there can't get to their house. There's more houses down the road. And we just can't understand why somebody just can't come in with some pumps and help us out," she says.
She says if that next tropical storm or even hard rain comes their way, they won't know what to do. "If this doesn't get fixed and the next wave comes through, we're in trouble. Big trouble."
