JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local teacher accused of having an affair with a student has been terminated.
At a school board meeting Tuesday night, New Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti recommended Danielle Reed be suspended without pay pending termination.
The board agreed that Reed, a language arts teacher at Atlantic Coast High School, should be terminated without pay for unprofessional conduct.
A judge sentenced Danielle Reed, 23, to five years of probation.
Reed cannot contact the victim for life, and any time spent with anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised.
