JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local teenager is hospitalized in critical condition after police say he accidentally shot himself.

The shooting happened late Friday night at a home off Connie Jean Road on the Westside.

Police won't say how the teen got a hold of the gun, who it belongs too, or how he accidentally shot himself.

The teen was with another teenager and two young adults at the home. Police have interviewed the three other witnesses.

Police did not say whether the teen lived at the home where the shooting took place.

The boy's family is with him at the hospital.
