JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville teen was sentenced to two life terms without parole on Friday in the death of a 13-month-old girl.
Javarris Jawon Lane, 17, was sentenced to two life terms without parole in the 2011 murder of Alexandria Williams.
Lane pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and sexual battery on a child under 12.
In September 2011, Lane was watching 13-month-old Alexandria Williams, a family friend, at his home on West First Street. Evidence showed Lane shook the crying toddler, hit her head multiple times on a dresser, and sexually abused the little girl. She died days after her injuries.
