JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Javarris Lane, the teen charged with the murder and sexual battery of a 13-month-old, took a plea deal in court Monday morning.
In September, 2011, police were called to 2237 West 1st Street in reference to an unresponsive infant. Alexandria Williams, 13 months, was in a coma for five days before she died.
Lane told authorities that Alexandria rolled off the bed while he was playing video games. He later admitted to shaking the victim because she would not stop crying and hitting her head on a dresser twice.
The investigation revealed that Lane also sexually assaulted the victim.
Monday morning, Lane pleaded guilty to second degree murder, aggravated child abuse and sexual battery. He will be sentenced on October 15 and faces life in prison.
