JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A judge sentenced Raymond Austin to 45 years for shooting another man in the chest in a parking garage in 2010.
Austin, 19, was found guilty of shooting Carl Davis in October 2010. Davis was lured into a Jacksonville parking lot where he was shot in the chest by Austin, then 17.
Austin's co-defendent, Shanda Merritt, was Davis' ex-girlfriend. She goes to trial on the attempted murder charge August 20, 2012.
He will be back in court in November for the trial for the 2010 kidnapping, armed robbery and first degree murder of 83-year-old Charles Soukup. Austin, Merritt and two others are charged with kidnapping Soukup from Jacksonville International Airport and killing him. Soukup's body was found near the airport.
