JACKSONVILLE Fla.-- Police said an 18-year old was shot in the head while riding his bike down Spires Street near West 27th Street in Northwest Jacksonville early Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Darryl Dewayne Arnold, lived in the neighborhood. The gunman is still at large.

Investigators said they have little information on the gunman. Police have been searching since shortly before 2 a.m. when the shooting took place.

Police are trying to find out if the shooter knew the victim. Police are talking to the victim's friend who, they said, was also on the bike at the time of the shooting.

Arnold was transferred to UF Health in critical condition.
