JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- We got a taste of fall on Monday, but beach breezes have blown those pleasant temperatures away!
Jacksonville's morning low temperature on Monday was a crisp, refreshing 57 degrees. This morning's minimum was 10 degrees warmer. And in St. Augustine, temps barely dropped below 80 all night!
Ocean winds typically modify the air pretty quickly here along the First Coast, especially when those winds are on the strong side. Wind speeds this morning were consistently 15-20 mph from Fernandina Beach to Mayport to St. Augustine Beach.
Occasionally, these beach breezes will bring showers, like we saw in Coastal St. Johns and Flagler Counties this morning. Expect a round of isolated showers again Wednesday morning.
And due to the elevated winds at the coast, there is a high risk of rip currents into this evening.
