JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- At ALB Auto Sales, a German shepherd named Sasha protects the property. This past Sunday, though, someone hopped the fence, fed her something and took off. What they didn't realize was the entire thing was caught on security cameras.
"I called the police in the morning. They came over, filled out a police report. Other than that, I can't find her," owner Kastriot Tusha said.
Tusha first got the dog -- named Sasha -- three years ago. He says she's loveable, yet firm and would protect the area at all costs. Anyone who came near with ill intent would often pay with a ripped piece of clothing or a warning bark. His kids loved her dearly and grew attached, so they were heartbroken when they found out she was gone.
Tusha says Sasha was the only thing taken that mysterious night. No cars, no parts. Just her.
"They fed her something to take her. So, I don't know if they tranquilized her or poisoned her or whatever. I don't know what happened," he continued.
Tusha says he has his theories on who took Sasha. Neighbors have called and made threats due to her barking at night...and a former employee may have sought revenge.
Tusha has been checking Craigslist to see if anyone has tried selling a German shepherd. He won't rest until he finds Sasha, but for now, he has a message for whomever took her.
"I hope they don't hurt her or anything else, but I'd like to have my dog back," he said.
The only piece of evidence found was a mechanic's shirt in a tree. If you have any information, or know who took Sasha, call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
