Thieves use front-end loader to steal ATM from bank

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFTV) -- Thieves used a stolen front-loader to steal an ATM from a Chase Bank on Lee Vista Boulevard Thursday, police said.

Authorities said the thieves were able to pull the machine from its base.

Orlando police said they responded to an alarm call at the Chase Bank at about 5:25 a.m. Thursday.

The bank's drive-through was badly damaged.

Police said the front-loader was found at the scene.

Crime scene investigators gathered potential evidence and said the case is an active investigation.

The ATM contained an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

The thieves remain at large.
