Thousands of cyclists cause traffic alert in St. Johns and Flagler counties
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Motorists traveling in St. Johns and Flagler counties are urged to exercise additional care when traveling this weekend because of thousands of additional cyclists on the roadways.
The North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is hosting the 27th
Annual Bike MS PGA Tour Cycle to the Shore event that will take place Saturday and Sunday on A1A in St. Johns, Flagler and Volusia counties.
More than 2,500 cyclists are expected to participate in the two-day ride.
"This is an extremely worthwhile event and I encourage motorists to share the roadway with cyclers traveling on our roadways this weekend," said Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre.
No road closures are planned, however temporary delays are likely.
Donations raised through the event will benefit the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its mission to help find a cure for MS.
