JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Sen. John Thrasher will not be Florida's next lieutenant governor.

Action News spoke to the Senator tonight to get his comment on reports that his name may be thrown into the mix of nominees for the job.

Thrasher told us "I have no interest in being lieutenant governor. I support the governor completely, but my plan is to run for another term in the Senate next year."

Florida has been without a lieutenant governor since March when Jennifer Carroll resigned.

I guess he will need to keep pretending he lives in St. Johns Co.

I'm glad he don't want the job of Lt. governor and I seriously hope some teaparty republican runs against him for his senate seat, the only time we hear from him and Crenshaw is when we get close to an election.
