JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- After a break in the rain through midweek, thunderstorms are already back in the picture.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will affect the Friday evening rush in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Heavy rain and dangerous lightning can be expected with these summer storms.

And a classic summerlike weekend is in store. The scattered thunderstorms will occur primarily in the afternoon and evening...affecting the Jax Metro Area and beaches after the hottest temps.

Temperatures, by the way, will reach the lower 90s along the I-95 Corridor.
