Toddler dies after cardiac arrest
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 2-year-old child rushed to the hospital under cardiac arrest has died, a source told Action News. JSO suspects foul play. The girl's parents have been questioned by police as part of their investigation.
JSO responded to an apartment complex off Baymeadows Road around 9:30 a.m. The child was transported to Wolfson Children's Hospital.
"There is no visible sign of trauma that we can tell," said Sgt. Farhat with JSO. "However, 2-year-olds don't just stop breathing so we need to have our due diligence," Farhat said.
The child had no previous medical history, according to investigators.
The Department of Children and Families is also looking into the case.
