JACKSONVILLE (ActionNewsJax.com) -- Tropical Storm Debby has made landfall in northwest Florida, with top winds of 40 miles per hour.  According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm came ashore near Steinhatchee.  Landfall is expected to weaken the storm, and it could be downgraded to a tropical depression as soon as Tuesday night.

Debby has so far dumped more than 12 inches of rain in the Jacksonville area.  Tuesday night could bring more serious flooding and up to 8 more inches of rain.  Jacksonville will feel the effects of Debby's rains through the end of the week.
