JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Some travelers are stranded at the Jacksonville International airport without a place to sleep for the night.
"We had a notification that it might be a slight delay and now its ended up that we don't have a flight until tomorrow with no hotel or vouchers," said Michael Osumi.
Osumi and his wife are trying to make it home to their family in California before Christmas.
"They're all waiting for us. Our kids are all waiting for us over there,'" said Osumi.
But Osumi said cancellations on Sunday due to weather made that impossible.
Several flights from Jacksonville to Chicago were cancelled, which caused more delays to other airports like Atlanta and Newark, New Jersey.
Traveler Dorothy Aponas she said she isn't panicking.
"We'll get there. I'm not worried about that, one way or another we'll get there," said Aponas.
But Susan Tolbert knows the clock is ticking.
"I hope we get there on time because Christmas is only two days away," said Tolbert.
For Osumi that means just two days to get across the country to his loved ones. He hopes Monday is his lucky day.
"We got to get back, back home," said Osumi.
