@MilitaryMan...why in the heck would anyone set their child up to be hurt or even more worse killed just to get $$$ from possible lawsuit... That's just crazy and so ARE YOU. Im a smart intelligent(too much to stoop to your ignorant level) beautiful balck woman. And me nor anyone in my family would do anything crazy like that.... SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY OR HAVE NOTHING TO SAY VERY LOUDLY!!! MsSweetz74

kp's comments were spot on, all the way through. MM's comment is easily construed as racist, whether it was meant that way or not. It is upsetting to see that the City can decorate/paint the streets for ball games, but cannot trim/remove dangerous trees, cannot cut the grass and weeds, cannot paint handicapped parking spaces in the Murry Hill Library parking lot, etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

I agree with most of *kpcat*'s comment until he/she starts in on the racial thing. I think the city had ample time to take care of the situation & is culpable for damages in this case. *MilitaryMan*:shame on you. A child has been seriously injured. Have a heart! *RiveRat*: why do you think he was playing there? Maybe he was--I wasn't there, were you? Not knowing the exact place this occurred I wonder if he had to walk under the tree to enter his home;maybe a ball rolled under there;maybe he WAS playing there. There are several possibilities of why he was there. Wait until all facts are known before judging.

how do you know he was playing there and not passing by.also the city laid the ground work for a law suit by not taking care of their/our responsibilities.you guys speculate and add on to stuff like this in a negitive way whenever blacks are involved.i first hope the kid walks again and i hope they sue and are awarded millions.you people suck *ss.

Now, RiverRat, WHY did you have to ask that ? ? They were busy laying the groundwork for a law suit...MONEY.

If the father knew this was a hazard why did he let his child play there?
