kp's comments were spot on, all the way through. MM's comment is easily construed as racist, whether it was meant that way or not. It is upsetting to see that the City can decorate/paint the streets for ball games, but cannot trim/remove dangerous trees, cannot cut the grass and weeds, cannot paint handicapped parking spaces in the Murry Hill Library parking lot, etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

I agree with most of *kpcat*'s comment until he/she starts in on the racial thing. I think the city had ample time to take care of the situation & is culpable for damages in this case. *MilitaryMan*:shame on you. A child has been seriously injured. Not knowing the exact place this occurred I wonder if he had to walk under the tree to enter his home;maybe a ball rolled under there;maybe he WAS playing there. There are several possibilities of why he was there. Wait until all facts are known before judging.
