SATSUMA, Fla. -- People came together to celebrate what would've been Haleigh's ninth birthday today.

Family and friends released nine balloons, as requested by her jailed father, and planted a tree outside the classroom where she attended kindergarten.

Haleigh Cummings has been missing since February of 2009 while in the care of Misty Croslin.  Croslin said she put Haleigh to bed and the girl vanished during the night.  Haleigh was five years old then.

Croslin is now in jail on drug charges after marrying and divorcing Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings.  He is also in jail on drug charges.

Authorities have long said Misty has the keys to solving this missing child mystery.  Haleigh has been declared dead by the sheriff's office but her body has not been found.

Her family is holding onto hope that she is still alive.

I wasn't aware that Crystal Sheffield is missing also. How interesting. I was commenting that she was not at the tree planting for her daughter's birthday. As far as I could tell, no one from Crystal's family was there. Why is that? Have they all given up on finding this child?

Where is HaLeigh's mother? That is a great question? She seems to have dropped off the grid after she took HaLeigh's brother out of school (for the second time) and moved out of Mrs Sykes home. She hasn't been spotted at her mother's home in months. So where is she? Why hasn't anyone in her family bothered to acknowledge HaLeigh's birthday? It's too bad the FBI can't take over this case and run the investigation. I don't believe it will ever be solved with Sheriff Hardy leading the way. And from the looks of things in Putnam County, he'll be re-elected come November. What a shame!

I agree that Misty didn't do anything to HaLeigh and that the police know where she is. Do a FULL investigation and you will find the answers. By the way, where is HaLeigh's mother?

Misty was asleep when the child went missing. She passed the hypnosis which is on the internet. Some quack said she flunked the voice analysis test. I have visited Misty over a dozen times and I had informed her that the investigator I hired had a child sighting. Misty trembled at this news. You can throw your polygraph into the ocean. I know of a case where a man passed a poly after stabbing a woman 16 times. A corrupt police dept performed a 30 day drug sting on a high school age child. 2 judges sentenced her to 25 years after hearing she was raped when she was 7 years old. A police deputy gave Misty 100 dollars on 2 occasions and has almost come to blows with the public defender over this corruption. I heard this first hand from the public defender. The police do not follow leads. They know where Haleigh is. They are the key. I wrote a letter to our corrupt Governor. After asking why he didn't answer my first letter about a missing child he forwarded my letter to the Florida dept of law enforcement. They sent me a short note suggesting that I write a letter to the corrupt Sheriff in Putnam county. As an example, the police in Ft Lauderdale got free hookers from Scott Rothstein, ponzi scheamer. The press reported on this once and then dropped it because they are in the cop's pocket. This is quite a state you have here.
