Stand Your Ground Law, does not apply when you on the receiving end of a 'life threatening' statement. In this day and age of trigger happy kids, no threat can be taken lightly. A life threat IS A LIFE THREAT! It MUST be taken seriously, especially when it is issues by someone in a vehicle where hands and weapons are out of sight. The threatened person MUST take action to protect himself from the threat being carried out. Had Jordan Davis (1) obeyed the law concerning loud car radios or creating a disturbance, (2) been respectful and lowered the radio volume, (3) kept his mouth shut, (4) not voiced a life threat, there would have been no reason for the man to protect himself. By the actions of Jordan's parents and apparent lack to teaching Jordan, respect for others, I consider them just as guilty in causing the death of their son. But, no matter how often they tell themselves they are innocent and proclaim Jordan's innocence...they will always remember their personal guilt and responsibility. They will never have a moment of mental peace. Their God knows and will know the truth. If they cause the imprisonment or death of the man, it also will remain on their head. Children do stupid things but, if they are not taught respect and responsibility for their actions, that IS the PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY.
