Sounds like one of the scams reported at Callercenter.com. I remember reading a complaint saying the scammer posed as a police officer and demanded the victim pay the loan she purportedly took some few months ago. Unfortunately for the scammer, the victim takes care of her credits and keeps track of her financial activities so she knew the caller was bluffing. She hung up, slamming the phone down. Must have broken the scammer's eardrum.

imtellin, unfortunately, it's all too true. It never ceases to amaze me the way people can react to things. The ones who take advantage and the ones who feel guilty for everything. We (people) are all such a mess, aren't we?

unless ya all fell off the turnip truck last night,, the po po, never call to tell ya all yer about to be arrested for any crime !!! to do so, would tip off the arrestee that he/she needs to git movin and soon... on occasion they will call once they have your where abouts surrounded, to flush out potential suspects,, but never with an implausible story that you can avoid arrest by paying money to a bank ( here's the # or credit card ).. fines are paid at the courthouse to the clerks,, or possibly bonds posted at police stations,, but never over the phone !!! were there actually people stupid enough to fall prey to this??? lord i hope not.. i read the warning the other day & laughed when tony got belligerent when someone questioned his story.. any real cop would welcome the arrest & the overtime,, he'ld simply say "see ya soon sucker"
