JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police arrested three people in connection with a phone scam involving a non-emergency number at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police say Tony Calhoun, Kristen Denton and Bianca Wilson, while claiming to be with law enforcement, called people to say they had a warrant out for their arrest.
The callers would then tell the victims, according to police, that they could avoid being arrested by paying a certain amount of money.
Police say the trio has not been linked to a debt collector scam
that police warned about last week.
Calhoun faces charges related to organized fraud, criminal conspiracy, falsely impersonating an officer and conspiracy to violate RICO.
Denton and Wilson face charges of organized fraud. Authorities say the two worked for Calhoun.
If you have any information about the scams, call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS
