Truck driver cited after morning rollover
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The truck driver responsible for a morning roll over on U. S. Highway 301 has been cited for careless driving after tipping over his semi full of logs.
All lanes of U. S. 301 just north of Fiftone Road were closed for several hours Wednesday morning due to an overturned log truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a truck driver heading north on U. S. 301 was attempting to clean the inside of his windshield when he accidentally veered off the road. The driver tried to correct himself but instead tipped over the semi, dumping a load of logs onto the highway.
U. S. 301 was completely closed for several hours while crews removed the pulpwood logs from the roadway.
Donald Cooper, 49, was cited for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt. Cooper walked away with minor injuries.
