ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol says a rider and passenger were injured in a motorcycle crash when the rider lost control of his motorcycle in St. Johns County early Saturday.

A crash report from F.H.P. obtained by Action News says Ryan Kiester, 32, of Pomona Park, and Heather Camacho, 32, of St. Augustine were seriously injured when they were ejected from a 2003 Harley after Kiester lost control for unknown reasons.

The F.H.P. report says Kiester was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and the motorcycle began to skid. The motorcycle skidded down Dobbs Road before it struck a parked Harley and came to a rest.

A public information officer with St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department says Kiester was not wearing a helmet and had to be transported to the Orange Park Medical Center in critical condition. Camacho was taken to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries.

The F.H.P. is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
