ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Two teens are in serious condition at UF & Shands Jacksonville after a school bus rolled over the top of their SUV during a crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol was called to State Road 13 and Cunningham Estates Road Wednesday afternoon in reference to a traffic crash involving a school bus from Bartrum Trail High School and a SUV.

School bus driver, Robert Irons, 62, was traveling westbound on Cunningham Estates Road and stopped at the State Road 13 intersection.

Teen brothers, 17 & 15, were traveling northbound on State Road 13 when Irons advanced into the intersection to make a left turn.

The SUV's brakes were applied, the SUV skidded and the bus rolled over the hood.

The teens were transported to UF & Shands Jacksonville with serious injuries.

There were two students on the bus at the time of the crash and neither were injured.

Irons was cited for violating the right of way.
